Since 1980, Rob and his wife Suzie have enjoyed real estate renovation projects. Initially applying their “sweat equity,” they would search out the worst property in the best location they could afford. Finding a house, they would get to work and create a high-quality renovation for them to live in comfortably and conveniently. Not merely a “flip” job, but each property was turned into a “Cream Puff,” becoming one of the best homes in the neighborhood.

Over the years, they completed over twelve projects escalating in scale and upgrading in locations, including Beverlywood, Sherman Oaks, Royal Oaks, Walnut Grove, and Hidden Hills, California.

Even before he began work in the Electronics Industry, Rob worked in construction, learning the basics of electrical, plumbing, framing, and most other essential trades. What he did not do himself, he paid close attention to the work and listened to the advice of skilled professionals to expand his knowledge. While initially acting as an owner-builder, as projects increased in size and cost, he managed general contractors, relying on his high degree of planning, organization, and construction skills to keep the jobs on schedule and budget.

Below are images of Rob's most challenging project, the Lewis & Clark Estate, in Hidden Hills, California. As this was a very high-end project, he created two booklets to give the new owner all the construction details, operational instructions for the high-tech facilities and equipment, and vendor specifications. The booklets are available for download at the end of this gallery.
